In a letter shared on social media, Shatta Wale retracted claims that Bullgod was involved in the 2014 murder of artist manager Fennec Okyere—allegations he made without evidence.

The ‘Freedom’ singer also apologized for additional comments he made on November 2, 2022, where he accused Bullgod and others of immoral behaviour. He admitted those statements were false and regrettable.

“On November 2, 2022, I published a series of posts on my social media pages and handles about MR. LAWRENCE NANA ASIAMAH HANSON alias BULLDOG. The publications included a statement that I have now come to know was generally misunderstood or misconstrued as MR. HANSON's confessions to me that he had a hand in the murder of FENNEC OKYERE (alias FENICKS).

“I wish to retract each of the statements in the said series of publications, as I did not mean to say that MR. HANSON had a hand in the murder of FENNEC OKYERE. I also wish to apologise to MR. HANSON and all the persons whom my publications of November 2, 2022, have caused pain, agony, anguish, shame, ridicule, or hatred,” he posted.

How did it start?
6
The conflict between Shatta Wale and his former manager, Bullgod (formerly known as Bulldog), began when the dancehall artist accused Bullgod and other industry players of holding back progress in Ghana’s music industry. He even suggested that they should be banned.
7
Shatta Wale publicly disrespected Bullgod, calling him an “errand boy” and accusing him of adultery and using prostitutes.
8
Things escalated in 2022 when Shatta Wale claimed Bullgod had confessed to being involved in the 2014 murder of music manager Fennec Okyere. He said he was willing to testify in court.
9
Bullgod responded by filing a defamation lawsuit against Shatta Wale, demanding compensation for what he described as harmful and false allegations.
10
The Ghana Police Service also reopened investigations into Shatta Wale’s claims, but no new charges were brought against Bullgod. He had previously been arrested in connection with the case but was released in 2017 due to lack of evidence.
11
Despite the legal proceedings, the feud dragged on into 2024, with both men continuing to insult each other publicly, especially on social media.
