The 28-year-old footballer needed urgent facial surgery after the attack, and doctors initially feared he might lose his sight.

The incident took place just a month before Wissa’s transfer to Brentford. His lawyer, Karim Morand-Lahouazi, stated, "Yoane continues to experience the lasting effects of this traumatic attack and attempted kidnapping."

Wissa's football career continues to attract attention, with ongoing transfer rumors. Nottingham Forest recently made a £22 million offer for him, but Brentford turned it down.

Even with questions about his future, Wissa recently made history at Brentford by becoming the club’s top scorer in the Premier League after scoring in their 2-2 draw with Manchester City.
