The company cited recent US customs regulation updates, which have increased processing times, as the reason behind the decision.

Although no date was listed on the announcement posted to the DHL website, metadata confirms it was prepared on Saturday.
2
The suspension stems from new customs rules introduced on April 5, requiring formal entry procedures for shipments over $800—a significant drop from the previous threshold of $2,500.
3
According to DHL, business-to-business deliveries will still continue, though customers may experience some delays. Shipments under $800, whether destined for businesses or individuals, remain unaffected.
4
In its statement, DHL stressed that the suspension is only a temporary step.

Responding to Reuters inquiries last week, the company stated it would maintain shipment processing from Hong Kong to the US “per the applicable customs rules and regulations,” and is working closely with customers “to help them understand and adapt to the changes that are planned for May 2.”
6
This follows a move by Hong Kong Post, which recently stopped sending sea mail to the US and accused Washington of “bullying” after tariff-free trade arrangements for parcels from China and Hong Kong were revoked.
