1 min readThe New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially called for proposals from its members and affiliated groups for constitutional amendments ahead of its Extraordinary National Delegates Conference scheduled for July 2025.

In a memorandum issued on April 25, 2025, NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, announced the party's intention to review its constitution and invited written proposals from all members.

“Pursuant to Article 19(a) of the NPP Constitution, the party is, by this formal communication, requesting its members and identifiable groups wishing to propose amendments to submit their written proposal(s),” Frimpong stated.

The memo further specified that all proposed amendments should be directed to the Office of the General Secretary at the Party Headquarters.

The party emphasized that the July conference will focus on reviewing and considering these proposed amendments.

“The Party shall hold an Extraordinary National Delegates Conference in the month of July 2025 to consider the various amendment proposals, which shall be tabled before the Conference in the form of motions for adoption,” Frimpong added.

He also highlighted the importance of this review in strengthening the party’s internal structures: “The Party looks forward to receiving from its members proposals for constitutional reforms, the adoption of which will result in a revised Constitution that addresses all the structural and other critical issues confronting the Party.”
