Leicester extended their lead at the top of the Sky Bet Championship to three points with a 3-2 victory against Birmingham at St Andrew’s, in a match that saw Stephy Mavididi score twice.

Leicester fans showed support for absent striker Jamie Vardy by wearing masks of his face, as his wife Rebekah recently lost a court case against Blues boss Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen.

The game had a dramatic start with three goals in the first 22 minutes. Leicester took the lead in the 10th minute through a swift counter-attack, with Abdul Fatawu releasing Mavididi to score a classy finish. Birmingham leveled after 15 minutes with a low shot from Jordan James, following a pass from Ivan Sunjic.

Leicester regained the lead in the 22nd minute through another counter-attack, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scoring his seventh goal of the season.

Mavididi extended Leicester's lead in the 50th minute with a curling shot, making it 3-1. Although Birmingham pulled one back after 74 minutes with a deflected shot from James, Leicester held firm to secure their fourth straight win and maintain their unbeaten run of six matches.
