The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suffered a loss with the passing of one of its Ashanti Region chairmen. The Nhyieaso Constituency Chairman, George Kofi Adjei, passed away at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) on July 31, 2024.

Adjei, known as one of the longest-serving constituency chairmen, had been receiving treatment at UGMC for a week prior to his death. His last public appearance was during the Electoral Commission's limited registration exercise at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in the Ashanti Region.
