A 28-year-old woman, Monica Mawuse Bosso, has been found dead at her family’s compound in Peace Town, a suburb of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality. Monica Mawuse Bosso was found with a headgear around her neck, tied to a lower branch of a mango tree.
The circumstances surrounding her death is yet to be made public, however, preliminary investigations by the Central East Regional Police Command suggest that she was raped and murdered.
According to the police, the deceased’s skirt and underwear forcefully ripped by the perpetrators alongside her mobile phone were reportedly found by Crime scene experts. Additionally, GH¢2,000 was withdrawn from the deceased’s Mobile Money account around the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has called appealed to the police to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into the incident and bring the perpetrators to book. This unfortunate incident comes weeks after the kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old Nana Yaw Kyere, a phone dealer at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
Nana Yaw Kyere was reported missing on September 22 after leaving his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra on September 19 in his Honda Civic to visit Sarah Osei Adams. His disappearance prompted the police to launch investigations into his whereabouts. However, his partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18 on September 21.
Police investigations reveal that Sarah Osei Adams lured the victim to the residence of Philip Tefe at Teshie Agbleza. However, Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams, and Josiah Obodai are standing trial for their involvement in the kidnapping and muder of the phone dealer.
According to a police statement, both suspects, Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe and Sarah Osei Adams, confessed to their involvement and indicated that suspect Philip Tefe attacked the victim during a confrontation and hit him with a metallic object, causing him to sustain injuries.
The victim was then moved to another room where he was left unattended and later died.
Part of the statement further read, “the victim's body was conveyed in a Kia Morning vehicle to a location near the motorway on 20th September 2026, where it was dumped in a bush and set ablaze”.
A similar incident occurred last year when the lifeless body of an immigration officer was discovered in a drainage system near GBC Satellite, opposite Comet Estate in Accra, on Wednesday, July 9.
The deceased went missing five days before his tragic death. Providing more details about the tragic incident, the police noted that the murderer(s) of the 38-year-old also set his body on fire.
