Ghanaian singer Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie, known simply as Camidoh, has openly criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the "Nothing Lasts Forever" (NFL) hitmaker expressed his disappointment, declaring, "The government has failed us… Big shame."
Though he didn’t provide specifics on where he felt the government had fallen short, Camidoh intensified his critique in a follow-up post, using harsher language: "Sh*tty people, y'all disgust us."
In another post, Camidoh shared a message from X user Sika Official, criticizing the recent arrest of 39 Democracy Hub protesters.
These individuals were remanded on Tuesday for what authorities described as unlawful actions during a three-day demonstration. The repost read "Walahi, this country makes me sick. Why are innocent people being taken to court for protesting against the same thing we are all suffering from? These people are out there actively destroying our water bodies with this galamsey activity, but it's the innocent protesters you chose to arrest. Ghana Police should bow their heads in shame," Camidoh reposted.
Why are innocent people being taken to court for protesting what we are all suffering from? Meanwhile, those destroying our water bodies with galamsey are left untouched. Ghana Police should bow their heads in shame."
