Accra Hearts of Oak has dismissed reports claiming the club has placed a transfer valuation on goalkeeper Benjamin Asare following his impressive performances for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 15, the club described the reports circulating in sections of the media and on social media as false and lacking any factual basis.
"Hearts of Oak has not placed any valuation on Benjamin Asare, and has not authorised any individual or media outlet to communicate a transfer fee or asking price on its behalf," the club said.
Speculation over the goalkeeper's future has intensified in recent weeks after his standout displays for the Black Stars on football's biggest stage reportedly attracted interest from clubs outside Ghana.
However, Hearts of Oak insisted that no official transfer fee has been determined for the player.
The club noted that while it remains open to evaluating offers that would be beneficial to both Asare and Hearts of Oak, any figures currently being circulated regarding the player's value are purely speculative.
"As a professionally run football club, Hearts of Oak remains open to receiving and considering offers that serve the best interests of both the player and the Club. However, no official valuation has been communicated at this time, and any figures currently in circulation are speculative," the statement added.
Management further urged supporters, stakeholders and members of the media to disregard unverified reports concerning the goalkeeper's transfer situation.
The club also encouraged journalists and media organisations to confirm information through its official communication channels before publication.
"The Club urges the media, our supporters, stakeholders, and the general public to disregard unverified reports regarding Benjamin Asare's transfer value," Hearts of Oak stated.
Despite the growing transfer speculation, the Phobians reiterated their pride in the goalkeeper's achievements, praising his performances for Ghana at the World Cup.
"Accra Hearts of Oak remains immensely proud of Benjamin Asare's achievements and congratulates him on his outstanding performances on the international stage," the statement said.
The club added that it remains committed to supporting the player's continued development while protecting the integrity of its operations.

About Benjamin Asare
Benjamin Asare has emerged as one of Ghana’s standout performers at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where his resilience and consistency between the posts earned him recognition as one of the tournament’s top goalkeepers.
He kept two clean sheets in the group stage and played a pivotal role in Ghana’s qualification from Group L.
At the World Cup, Asare made his debut against Panama on June 18, 2026, stepping in after Lawrence Ati-Zigi’s injury. He kept a clean sheet in Ghana’s 1–0 victory and followed it up with another against England on June 23, 2026, where he produced six crucial saves from 19 shots in a 0–0 draw.
His performances helped Ghana progress to the knockout stage, though he was replaced by Ati-Zigi in the Round of 32 against Colombia, where Ghana lost 2–0. Across three matches, Asare faced 35 shots, made 11 saves, and secured two clean sheets, ranking as the sixth-best goalkeeper at the tournament by FIFA metrics.
Internationally, Asare has collected 14 caps since his debut in March 2025 against Chad, where he kept a clean sheet in a 5–0 win. He was instrumental in Ghana’s World Cup qualifiers, recording four clean sheets in five matches, including a penalty save against South Korea.
His efforts have been recognized with several accolades: SWAG Male Home-Based Footballer of the Year in 2025, Ghana Football Awards Goalkeeper of the Year in 2025, and multiple Ghana Premier League Goalkeeper of the Month awards.
At club level, Asare plays for Accra Hearts of Oak, having joined in July 2024 on a contract running until 2027. In the 2024/25 season, he recorded 12 clean sheets in 18 league matches. His journey is particularly inspiring, as he overcame a broken leg in 2021 and returned to top form after 18 months of rehabilitation.
