Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) to August.The tournament, initially set for February 1-28, 2025, was to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.CAF explained that its Technical and Infrastructure team recommended the delay to allow more time for preparing the required facilities and infrastructure.

A statement released on the CAF website said: “Good progress has been made in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda with the construction and upgrading of stadiums, training fields, hotels, hospitals and other infrastructure and facilities for the hosting of a successful TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (“CHAN”) Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda 2024.

CAF’s Technical and Infrastructure experts, some of whom have been stationed in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, have advised that additional time is needed to bring the infrastructure and facilities up to the required standards for hosting a successful TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.
