Ghanaian TikToker Obaa Cee opened up about the tumultuous path of her failed marriage in a candid interview on The Delay Show aired on May 4, 2024 , highlighting instances of abandonment and emotional turmoil.
Obaa Cee recounted how her marital challenges began, including her husband's absence during crucial childbirth moments and his proposal for an abortion due to financial constraints.
"His reason was that he did not have money to take care of a child," she disclosed, reflecting on the difficult decision she faced.
"I told him even when we were not married, I gave birth so how does he expect me to abort a child now that we were married? So, he said he wouldn’t take responsibility if I refused to abort the child and I thought he was kidding."
Despite her resistance and insistence on keeping the child, Obaa Cee faced continued abandonment, leading to financial struggles and emotional distress as a single mother.
The final blow came with news of divorce just 40 days postpartum, delivered through her husband's family members, leaving her devastated.
"When I met him, I knew no other man. He was the one who took my virginity,' said Obaa Cee, now rumoured to be 54 years old. "We dated for four years before welcoming our first child. At the time of our marriage, he resided in Asafo while I lived with my mother in Krofrom, both suburbs of Kumasi. I was around 23 years old when we began this journey."Now happily married to a Ghanaian based in the United States for fourteen years, Obaa Cee reflects on her journey and the support she has found in her current husband.
