Former National Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and prominent member of the Bawumia campaign team, Sammi Awuku, has openly recognized the strong competition posed by the opposition party's candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

In an interview on JoyNews' The Probe, he acknowledged that securing victory in the 2024 election won't be a straightforward endeavor for their party.

He emphasized that while the NPP will primarily face off against Mr Mahama, he remains confident that their candidate will prevail in the 2024 elections. Mr. Awuku attributed this potential success to the strategic approach the NPP intends to implement.

“We are up against a very formidable opponent, but the NPP will win 2024 based on superior strategy – our message and our ability,” he admitted.

“I am confident of NPP victory in 2024 because what is the alternative? The alternative must also tell us what they intend to do. They are not new to the politics of our country,” he added.

On Saturday, November 4, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was elected to lead the NPP in a closely contested presidential primary.

In his victory speech, he urged his fellow contenders and party members to unite and collaborate in pursuit of the NPP's goal to 'break the 8.'
