1 min readThe Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) has announced that the lives of some media practitioners are being threatened while carrying out their mandate in the ongoing 2024 elections.Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, president of the Association, referenced Awutu Senya East, as one of the areas where such unlawful acts are happening."Information reaching us suggests that some journalists have come under threat in some election centres.

I will give an example, Kasoa in the Awuwu Senya East constituency, as well as other parts of the country," he said.Dwumfour noted that it is unfair for political parties to lash out at unsuspecting journalists simply because they are losing the elections.The GJA noted that the media cannot be suppressed since it is its electoral mandate.
