In a swift response to a distress call on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, officers from the Konongo Fire Station rescued a driver trapped in a truck after a head-to-rear-end collision at Agogo Junction, Konongo.
The accident involved a Kia Rhino Truck (BW 164-20) and a MAN Diesel Truck (GT 7613-10), with the latter's rear remaining undamaged.
The rescue team arrived at the scene promptly at 16:53 hours and executed a tactful rescue operation.

They successfully extricated and transported the trapped and injured driver, Yahya Ouatarra, to the Konongo Government Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Ouatarra's conductor, who also suffered injuries, was earlier assisted out of their partially mangled Kia Truck’s head before the arrival of the rescue crew.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The rapid response and efficient rescue efforts led by STNO II Odjer Jonathan of the GNFS received praise.
