The Black Stars of Ghana have been nominated for the Men’s National Team of the Year award at the 2026 CAF Awards.
This year’s nomination marks their fifth, with the four-time African champions among 10 countries shortlisted for the prestigious honour following their return to the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will face competition from Algeria, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia.
Ghana currently sit 70th in the FIFA Men’s World Ranking and 14th in Africa, following a five-place drop from their previous position of 65th in the latest rankings released on October 7, 2026.
The Black Stars reached the World Cup knockout stage for the first time since the 2010 tournament, a performance that has contributed to their inclusion among this year’s nominees.
The winners across the various categories will be announced at the 2026 CAF Awards ceremony scheduled for Monday, December 7.
