The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has urged the Ga Traditional Council and the entire Ga community to draw inspiration from the enduring legacy of the late Paramount Queen of The Ga State, Her Royal Majesty (HRM), Naa Dedei Omaedru III.
Her Royal Majesty passed away on December 26, 2022, at the age of 88, having served for an impressive 59 years.
The Speaker emphasizes that the Queen's passing should not be a somber moment, but rather a source of motivation for the Council and the broader Ga community to achieve even more.
Expressing his sentiments while extending condolences to several chiefs at the Council and signing a book of remembrance in honor of the late Paramount Queen, the Speaker of Parliament conveyed, "Today, we gather not to mourn, but to celebrate the exceptional life of our beloved queen mother. This is a time for commemoration and acknowledgment of the remarkable contributions made by our diligent queen-mother.
Her existence is a divine blessing, and her legacy is our responsibility to uphold, ensuring that the generations to come recognize and appreciate it."
"In a world where few cultures have empowered women to ascend to such heights, the Ga state stands as an exemplar. This unique aspect of our heritage is not shared by many ethnic groups within Africa, and even in Ghana, the Ga community shines as a beacon of such achievements in our history," he further added.
