Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has challenged GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi to formally report to the appropriate authorities over the extortion claims he has made against him.
Afenyo-Markin has directed Sammy Gyamfi to report his allegations to the Police, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), or any other competent investigative agency.
Speaking during Parliament’s emergency recall sitting on Monday, August 24, Afenyo Markin vowed to appear and cooperate with these institutions over the matter.“If they muster the courage to report that I have extorted from them and I am invited, I shall submit myself to every investigation so that eventually my name is cleared,” he said.The Minority Leader further disclosed that two separate cases involving individuals and media organisations over the claims have been filed.
One of the suits, numbered GT 1029/2026, according to him, is titled Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin versus Samuel Adu-Gyamfi and Multimedia Group Limited and was filed at the Accra High Court.
The second suit, GR/ACH/CC/C5/02/2026, is titled Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin versus Eric Agjei and Peace FM and was filed at the Achimota Circuit Court.
Meanwhile, the Minority Leader has distanced himself from these claims, noting that , “I have served in this position with integrity”.
