A recent security operation in Shiare, Oti Region, led to the arrest of fifty individuals suspected of being involved in the ongoing conflict in Nkwanta. These individuals are set to undergo screening before facing legal proceedings.DCOP Osman Abdul Razak, the National Security Coordinator, visited Nkwanta to evaluate the situation and engage with local leaders from both factions in the dispute.

His visit is part of efforts to mediate and seek a resolution to the violence.DCOP Alex Acquah, the Oti Regional Police Commander, reported that the renewed hostilities have resulted in six fatalities, ten injuries, and the destruction of twelve houses and a shop.
