2 mins readGovernment has handed over 15,000 acres of farmland to the people of Ejura, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.The event, led by the Minister of Public Enterprises, Joseph Cudjoe, and the Director-General of SIGA, John Boadu, was marked with a ceremony hosted by Nana Barima Osei Hwedie II, the Ejurahene, along with his chiefs.

John Boadu, who played a key role in the project, shared the story behind this achievement during the event attended by community members and stakeholders.“I received a petition on this issue from Nana Ejurahene after becoming the Director-General of SIGA. I then discussed it with my Minister, Hon. Joseph Cudjoe, to take it up.

“Together, we undertook numerous engagements, including meetings with His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, explaining that the lease for the Ejura Farms had expired as far back as 2018.

saying, “Today, the government has fulfilled its promise, and we are here to present all the documents to Ejuraman for them to reclaim their farmland.”The Ejurahene expressed deep appreciation to John Boadu, Joseph Cudjoe, and the NPP government for fulfilling a long-standing request from the community.He described the farmland allocation as a major step forward that would boost agriculture and development in Ejura.

In his final remarks, John Boadu urged the people of Ejura to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming presidential election and support Gifty Ndoma, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, to continue the government’s progress.The event ended joyfully, with the community singing and praising the government for its timely and impactful support.
