Ghana international and Spurs’ powerhouse’ Mohammed Kudus has earned admiration from several football legends, including former Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
It’s been barely three months since his move to Spurs and he is topping chats already. Currently, no winger has more assists, accurate crosses, duels won, or successful attacking actions than Kudus in the top five leagues.
Drogba while responding to a question about the player has impressed him this in the English Premier League this season during an interview with Sporty TV which was aired today, Wednesday October 29 mentioned Mohammed Kudus citing his accuracy and stunning finishing. He also commenced two other players for their standout performances.
The Ivorian icon replied, “I like Kudus. I used to like [Nicolas] Jackson because I saw a lot of similarities [with myself].“Of course, my brother, Mohammed Salah, King Salah,” the Ivorian legend said.
Statistically, Kudus has been one of the most influential wingers in Europe’s top five leagues, leading the charts for assists, accurate crosses, duels won, and successful attacking actions.
Kudus since joining Spurs in July in the summer transfer window in a £55 million move, has provided five assists and a goal in nine league appearances so far.
Former West Ham manager and Everton’s current coach David Moyes has also praised Kudus for his outsanding form this season.
He made these remarks during a pre-match interview ahead of his side’s 3–0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool during the Premier League, matchweek 9.
According to Moyes, Kudus' stellar display this season with Spurs and his contributions to the club’s record appear to make him seem like their best signing of the summer.
Having coached Kudus during their stint at West Ham, Moyes said he “enjoyed managing him.
“From a distance, he looks like their best buy of the summer. He can play several positions if you want him. He’s a brilliant player. He-Kudus has so many attributes to his game. I hugely enjoyed managing him. He’s just finding his form at Tottenham,” he expressed.
Moyes and Kudus share a relationship from their one-season run together at West Ham United that had the Hammers make it to the Europa League quarterfinals. David Moyes and Mohammed Kudus left the club in 2024 and 2025, respectively. Moyes exited West Ham by mutual consent at the end of the 2023/24 season, while Kudus left in July 2025 following a dip in form.
Kudus' form at Spurs has not only earned praise from his former coach, but also attracted the same from former Man Utd forward and the club’s all-time leading goal scorer, Wayne Rooney.
According to him, Kudus has become “a breath of fresh air” at Spurs.
This comes after Kudus played a crucial role in Spurs' win against Leeds United in their game at Elland Road on Saturday, October 4.
Just twenty-three minutes into the game, Kudus passed the ball to Mathys Tel, whose deflected shot gave Spurs the lead.
Leeds equalised Spurs’ lead in the 34th minute through Noah Okafor. However, after twenty-three (23) minutes, Kudus notched a goal in the 57th minute with a superb finish from the edge of the box, restoring his team’s lead.
This has earned him some praise from Rooney, who lauded him for his form since joining Spurs on July 10 in a £55 million transfer from West Ham United.
Rooney, speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, lauded Kudus’ all-round contribution.
“I think he’s been a breath of fresh air. When you look at the stats from today’s game against Leeds, he’s first in every category: duels won, successful dribbles, shots, touches in the opposition box, and sprints. He’s had a real impact for Tottenham this season,” the England legend said.
In a breakdown of his performance statistics since joining Tottenham, Rooney explained that “he’s got four assists, which is joint-highest in the Premier League right now, and by far the most successful dribbles. All that was missing was the goal, and I think that strike today will push him to the next level,” he added.
Tottenham Hotspur officially announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus in a social media post on X on Thursday, July 10. Spurs shared his welcome video with a caption that read, "He only wanted Spurs. Welcome to North London, Mohammed Kudus."
The 24-year-old joined the North London side for a 55 million pound fee for his services in a six-year deal that was signed at the Tottenham Stadium.
Kudus was one of the most talked-about players in the last transfer window.
The 24-year-old was being sought after by both European and Saudi clubs; however, it is reported that Kudus wants to play for a European club.
Among the prominent English clubs, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur appeared to be the front-runners in the race for the forward.
However, it was reported that Kudus was more interested in the Spurs than the Blues.
The Ghana international winger was expected to stay with West Ham until 2028 after joining them in August 2023 from Ajax for a reported fee of €41.5 million, with an option to extend the deal by an additional year.
Despite concerns about his inconsistencies in the last campaign, Kudus impressed in his debut Premier League season, scoring 14 goals and providing six assists across all competitions.
In the Premier League, he made 32 appearances, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists. He featured once in the FA Cup but didn’t register a goal or assist. In the EFL Cup, he played twice and provided 1 assist without scoring.
Overall, across all competitions, Kudus made 35 appearances, scored 5 goals, and contributed 4 assists.
His standout performances in his debut season made him a prime target for several top clubs.
Tottenham’s interest in bolstering their attack does not end with Kudus, as the club continues to monitor Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.
