Ahead of his fight in Nigeria, Ghanaian boxer Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones, paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
After winning the WBO Africa Light Heavyweight title, Freezy returned to present the belt to Otumfuo in appreciation of the traditional ruler’s blessings before his fight.
He made the presentation during the seventh Akwasidae celebration at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Monday, October 12, 2026, and dedicated the continental title to Otumfuo and the people of Asanteman.

According to Freezy, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II laid hands on his boxing gloves during his visit to the palace ahead of the fight, prompting him to return and express his gratitude.
His appearance at the Akwasidae celebration was therefore an opportunity not only to present the belt but also to seek further blessings as he prepares for the next phase of his boxing career.
This is not the first time the boxer has visited the Asantehene. Freezy Macbones visited Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on June 23, 2024, during the fifth Akwasidae Festival, accompanied by former Black Stars defender Samuel Inkoom.

During that visit, he congratulated the Asantehene on his 25th anniversary on the Golden Stool, presented him with a portrait of his academy jerseys, donated headphones to the palace and asked the King to bless his boxing gloves. Otumfuo reportedly laid hands on the gloves and prayed over them.
About the fight

Freezy Macbones won the WBO Africa Light Heavyweight title on October 1, 2026, after defeating Nigerian boxer Godday “Zodsolo” Appah by majority decision in a 10-round contest dubbed “Chaos in the Ring” at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
The Ghanaian made a strong start to the bout, flooring Appah in the opening round. He maintained his dominance in the second and third rounds, using his movement, accuracy and power punching to control the fight.
Appah, however, rallied in the middle rounds and mounted a comeback, taking advantage of a period when Macbones appeared to slow down after his explosive start. Backed by the home crowd, the defending champion increased the pressure and enjoyed his best spell of the fight.
Despite Appah’s resurgence, Macbones regained his composure in the closing rounds and finished strongly, convincing two of the three judges to secure a majority decision victory.
