Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is set go his seperate ways with the Spanish club at the end of the season to head Brazil's national team.

His exit was confirmed in a statement on Monday, May 12, 2025, by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) noting that Ancelotti will take charge of the Seleção starting May 26.

They also went ahead to thank Real Madrid's president Florentino Perez for “facilitating the coach’s release during his contract term”.

Ancelotti’s current deal with Real was set to expire in June 2026.

Ancelotti leaves the Santiago Bernabéu as one of Real Madrid's most successful managers leading the team to secure 15 trophies during his two stints as head coach of the club.

Last season Real Madrid under the coaching of Ancelotti won both the Champions League and the Spanish La Liga title.

However, amid his successful stint with the club, Sunday’s El Clasico defeat left Real seven points behind leaders Barcelona with three games remaining.
