A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajjia Fati, has criticized a former member of the party, Hopeson Adorye, over his recent comments against the party.
Hopeson Adorye has made startling claims regarding the dubious tactics employed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since he left the party to join former Minister for Trade, Alan Kyerematen
He recently made mention of steps the ruling party took to retain the Ejisu seat during the bye-elections.
Speaking on Captain Smart's Onua morning show on May 8, 2024, the former National Security boss asserted that the NPP recruited party executives from Kumawu to oversee the elections at various polling stations.
He alleged that these individuals were trained by the Electoral Commission (EC) to serve as presiding officers.
Mr. Adorye, who recently left the NPP to join Alan Kyeremanten's Movement for Change (M4C), stated that he received this information around 5pm on the day of the elections, which took place on April 13, 2024.
To support his claims, he mentioned specific names and referred to page numbers in the Kumawu constituency album where the names of these alleged NPP-affiliated EC officials were recorded.
Reading from a personal compilation titled "Polling station executives of Kumawu enlisted as EC officials for Ejisu," he named three NPP constituency executives of Kumawu who had been enlisted as presiding officers.
But according to the female MP member, the actions taken by Hopeson Adorye will amount to nothing. Hajjia Fati also noted that it comes as no surprise if Hopeson decides to return to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) since he is returning to his roots.
