She underscored the role of faith as a driving force in achieving milestones and emphasised that unwavering faith should not merely be a belief but a way of life. Wood commended the Ghana Evangelical Society, led by Rev Prof. Enoch Immanuel Amanor Agbozo, for exemplifying such faith and commitment throughout the Society's 50 years of existence.

“He tirelessly worked to draw the nation’s attention to its Christian foundation and spoke against corruption, political violence and societal evils through lectures, seminars, symposia, conferences and other equally appropriate avenues,” she said. Wood praised the commendable leadership of Rev Prof Agbozo, noting that the Ghana Evangelical Society (GES) had, under his guidance, become a valuable asset to the nation.

She emphasized the society's role in promoting righteousness, peace, and contributing to the flourishing democracy in Ghana. The celebration of the Golden Jubilee, according to Wood, stands as a testament to the enduring impact of a visionary leader, Rev Prof Agbozo, who, even at the age of 90, has made a lasting mark on Ghana, Africa, and beyond.

She encouraged individuals to contribute their efforts toward the improvement of Ghana and the global community.
Rev Frederick B. Dadson, Assistant Leader, GES, in a sermon, said one would have expected to see righteousness, honesty, unity and truth in political, economic and sociocultural dispensation, however, “what we keep seeing are injustices, wickedness, glorification of adultery and falsehood.

“Politicians frame stories against their opponents. Corruption, greed and evil are on the ascendency. Let’s come back to God.

The 50 years celebration was call for purity, faithfulness and justice in our national and individual affairs,” he said The Ghana Evangelical Society (GES) is a non-denominational evangelistic missionary movement that envisions and strives to play a divine catalytic role in evangelism, reconciliation, redemption, and the emergence of a new Ghana.

Established in April 1973 and officially inaugurated in October 1977, GES stands out as a trailblazing non-denominational Apostolic Para-Church ministry. It is uniquely tasked with direct and specific commissions aimed at reconciling, redeeming, and rebuilding the Church, the Nation, and its people based on truth and knowledge.
