Deputy National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Elikem Eric Kevin Kwame Kotoko, is pointing fingers at the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the death of Deputy Finance Minister Dr. John Kumah.
The untimely demise of Dr. John Kumah, the MP for Ejisu who sided with the NPP was announced on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
After news of his death broke, Mr Kotoko in a post on X, hinted that the former government official was poisoned.
"They have started eliminating themselves. Poisoning always a common killer in their camp," he wrote.

Also, Captain Smart, a well-known broadcaster with Onua TV/FM, has also made the startling claim that Deputy Finance Minister Dr. John Kumah, whose sudden death has shocked the nation, was poisoned during a visit to Kumasi.
According to Captain Smart, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was also poisoned.
Captain Smart suggested that Dr. Kumah's poisoning was motivated by his influence and ambitious goals.
"John Kumah and some prominent individuals met. The whole issue is due to John Kumah's ambitions, he must be stopped from reaching a level that would make him unstoppable. Someone should call Chairman Wontumi and ask him if he did not also eat the same food."
"John Kumah was intentionally poisoned," Captain Smart's voice can be heard in a video circulating on social media.
The video was recorded prior to the untimely demise of Dr. John Kumah, whom reports indicate collapsed in his office and was swiftly transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
Subsequently, due to a decline in his condition, he was flown out of the country for further medical attention.
Sources suggest that he was later flown back into the country to aid in his recovery.
The cause of his death is currently unknown. Dr. Kumah, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, was known for his diverse roles as a lawyer, entrepreneur, and dedicated politician.
He is survived by his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children.
