Afrobeats sensation Tekno has released an energetic single, “Power Bank,” an anthem that blends playful romance with irresistible dance-floor energy.
This Afro-pop track is a mix of playful romance and irresistible dance-floor energy.
The tune is already turning heads just a day after its release, with over 30k views on YouTube.
“Power Bank,” released under emPawa Africa and Cartel Music, follows the success of his previous single “Alhaji,” which has now garnered over 30k uses on TikTok and has already amassed over 10 million streams across platforms.
The music video, shot in Abuja and directed by the acclaimed Kemz, features Nollywood actress, socialite, and screen goddess Regina Daniels as Tekno’s on-screen love interest.
From intimate moments to high-energy car chase scenes, the visual captures the lighthearted, romantic energy of a love that recharges just like a power bank.
It opens with Regina Daniels piling clothes into a washing machine. The camera then cuts to her, adorned in a mini skirt and a crop top, complemented by white, average-length boots, dancing with Tekno infront of a laundrmat.
The duo dances together, holding hands, while Tekno begins to sing to Regina, telling her she's his power bank: "You charge my battery full, when adey with you, there's nothing I can't do..."
It’s bold, deeply Nigerian, and built to soundtrack both dancefloors and everyday love stories.
Meanwhile, this song adds to the artist’s over 75 songs, including singles, collaborations, and tracks from his albums. Known for hit songs like “Pana,” “Skeletun,” and “Wayo,” Tekno remains one of Afrobeats’ most consistent and influential hitmakers.
Tekno emerged on the music scene in 2012 with his debut single “Holiday” under K-Money Entertainment. The track, which featured Davido, earned him a huge fan base, giving him more popularity and early attention.
However, the real dealbreaker in his career was when he signed with Made Men Music Group (MMMG) in 2013, after which he dropped hits like “Dance” and “Anything.”
This earned him a nomination for Best New Act at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
