A suspected phone thief in Kumasi-Adum PZ received an unusual punishment after being caught red-handed committing a crime.

Instead of being handed over to the police, the suspect was forced to clear the deep, choked, and stinking drains at Adum using only his hands.

Eyewitnesses noticed the thief's suspicious behavior and began monitoring him. He was caught in the act with a stolen phone and admitted to the crime.

The stolen phone was recovered, and he was then tasked with desilting the drains until evening.

While some bystanders expressed concern about the health risks associated with the punishment, given the unsanitary conditions of the drains, others viewed it as preferable to mob justice.
