Following an attack by six armed robbers who blocked the Gomoa Potsin – Awomre Road in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, one person is currently receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.

The assailants targeted passengers, robbing over 20 vehicles on their way to Agona Swedru.

The robbers barricaded the road and forcibly stopped each vehicle, robbing them one by one.

A driver who failed to comply with their demands was shot, as reported by a police source. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 24, 2023, around 9 PM.

The immediate past Assembly Woman for the Pamfokrm Electoral Area, Abena Adadaizua, confirmed the incident when speaking to Kasapa News reporter Yaw Boagyan.

She highlighted that despite seeking assistance, police officers at Gomoa Dominase and its surroundings failed to respond promptly due to a lack of access to vehicles.

In response to the incident, Abena Adadaizua urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to provide the Gomoa Dominase District Police with vehicles to enhance their ability to combat armed robberies on the road.
