1 min readThe National Democratic Congress (NDC) party has appointed a former Minister of Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, as its Director of Elections and IT in preparation for 2024 elections.

This appointment was officially communicated through a press release issued on August 24, 2023, bearing the signature of NDC's General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.

The press release also reveals a roster of other key appointments for the approaching 2024 general elections.

Dr. Omane Boamah, a medical doctor and expert in health policy planning and financing, succeeds Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, who had held the position since 2019.

Having previously served as Spokesperson for former President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC's flagbearer, Dr. Boamah's professional achievements extend to his role as Vice Chairman of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UNCSTD) in Geneva.

An alumnus of prestigious institutions such as the London School of Economics (LSE), the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the University of Ghana Medical School, Dr. Boamah played pivotal roles in NDC's electoral victories, including his roles as Deputy Campaign Coordinator in the 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections and his contributions to the NDC's triumph in the 2008 elections.
