1 min readLawyer Martin Kpebu has announced his intention to take legal action against President Akufo-Addo for alleged corruption, stating that not even immunity granted to a former President will deter him from pursuing this course of action.Mr Kpebu clarified that presidential immunity is intended to protect individuals for their official actions and not for acts of corruption.

He made these remarks in an interview with the media on Saturday, September 16.His statement was made in the context of discussing the recent apology issued by Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo. “The immunity is for the things that he has done and not for acts like corruption,” he stated.

Mr Kpebu expressed concern that it took President Akufo-Addo a considerable amount of time to remove Safo from her position as Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, implying that such delays might indicate corruption.Kpebu asserted his intention to take legal action against President Akufo-Addo as soon as the President leaves office, based on his allegations of corruption.

However, Richard Ahiagbah, the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), criticized Kpebu's frequent criticism of the President, describing it as "unexemplary" and highlighting Kpebu's propensity to insult the President at will.
