Ghanaian artist Beeztrap KOTM recently opened up about his rise to fame and the challenges he faced before gaining recognition. Despite his relentless efforts in creating music over the years, Beeztrap KOTM initially struggled with obscurity. He noted that many people who encountered his work mistakenly believed he was a DJ or sound engineer rather than the artist behind the music.
“I’ve been in the game for a while and have released numerous tracks, but it wasn’t until ‘Fly Girl’ that I started getting the recognition I deserved. Before that, people often confused me with a DJ or thought I was similar to DJ Khaled, who features on tracks without performing,” Beeztrap KOTM shared during his appearance on the Delay show.
During the same interview, Beeztrap KOTM discussed how influential figures like Sarkodie and Mugeez have impacted his career. He expressed deep gratitude for Sarkodie’s support, revealing that Sarkodie’s endorsement was particularly significant for him.
“I’ve looked up to Sarkodie for years, so it was incredibly exciting when he reached out and shared that he wanted to collaborate. It felt like a major breakthrough when his manager contacted me about a song he wanted me to hear,” Beeztrap KOTM said.
He also acknowledged the role Mugeez played in shaping his musical style. “Mugeez has always been a significant influence for me. I’ve admired his work for a long time and still learn from his music today,” he added.
