The running mate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, widely known as Roman Fada, has declared his readiness to take on the role of flagbearer following the passing of Akua Donkor.

In an interview with Angel FM on October 29, 2024, Roman Fada stated that he is prepared to step up as the party's new flagbearer if legally necessary after the tragic death of Akua Donkor, the previous presidential candidate for the GFP.

"If the law says I should be the flagbearer, why not... I am ready to take up the mantle," he stated.

He also expressed optimism about receiving support from his peers in the entertainment industry.

“Since I am an entertainment person, I hope I will get support from my colleagues in the entertainment field,” he said.

Roman Fada shared details about the circumstances surrounding Akua Donkor's passing. He revealed that she fell ill on Saturday, October 26, 2024, and received treatment at the Nsawam Government Hospital before being discharged.

Unfortunately, her health deteriorated, prompting her emergency transfer to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (formerly Ridge Hospital) on Sunday, October 27. Tragically, she passed away at 10:00 PM on Monday, October 28.
