Inspector General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare was spotted interacting with Superintendent George Asare, a key player in the ongoing investigations into the plot to oust the IGP, during a break in the parliamentary committee's ongoing hearing.
This interaction follows the release of a video showing Superintendent George Asare of the Ghana Police Service speaking with Chief Bugri Naabu, the former Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), during a meeting.
They spoke about a number of topics, including the role played by the police in the opposition National Democratic Congress's (NDC) electoral victory, and the potential replacement of the current Inspector-General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare.
In spite of the accusations and debate surrounding the conversations in the leaked video, IGP George Akuffo Dampare and Superintendent George Asare were seen mingling during the committee's break.
