He further clarified that the restructuring process would focus on reallocating staff to areas in need of personnel, rather than initiating dismissals. This move comes in response to concerns about the future of public sector workers following President John Dramani Mahama’s decision to dissolve or restructure several ministries, including the Ministry of Information.

The reorganization is part of the government’s broader initiative to modernize public service operations, enhance efficiency, and create a system that better serves the needs of Ghanaians. As part of this effort, the administration has merged or abolished several ministries. For example, the Ministry of Information has seen its responsibilities transferred to the presidency.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has also been split into two entities: the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment. These adjustments reflect President Mahama’s commitment to creating a leaner, more responsive, and cost-effective government, aligning with efforts to improve public service and reduce redundancies.
