1 min readThe Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has reported a reduction in the number of its fire engines in the Ashanti Region.As of October 12, 2023, the number of functional fire engines stood at 21 from 24 earlier recorded.In a Facebook post, the Fire Service noted that the fire engines are overaged, thus they periodically break down due to mechanical faults, "making them unreliable to respond to fire and related emergency.

"The Service noted that all must be "concerned about the worrying situation."Due to the decline in logistics, residents of the Ashanti Region have been urged to support the Service in its quest to prevent undesired fires on their properties through the adherence of basic fire safety measures.
