Forty-nine (49) more Ghanaians have arrived in Ghana from South Africa amid the heightened violent xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in the country.
This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through Ambassador Harold Agyeman, l the Accra International Airport via a press briefing and reception ceremony on Friday, August 21.
This forms part of government efforts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Ghanaians living and working there and wish to return home.
Authorities are continuing to monitor developments in South Africa and coordinate with Ghana’s diplomatic mission and relevant South African authorities to safeguard the interests of Ghanaian nationals.
The government has also urged Ghanaians in affected areas to remain vigilant and follow safety guidance as efforts continue to address concerns over the welfare of migrants in the country.
