Actor and comedian Funny Face has been granted bail by a District Court in Kasoa, with a bond set at GH¢120,000. This decision comes after his involvement in an accident in Kakraba, Kasoa, which resulted in injuries to five individuals.
The court session took place on Tuesday, April 9, with updates provided by the prosecution on the victims' health.
According to JoyNews’ legal affairs correspondent, Richard Kojo Nyarko, four of the victims have been discharged from the hospital, while one, initially in critical condition, is now recovering.
The court has set bail conditions for Funny Face, which, once met, will allow him to be released from custody while awaiting further legal action.
The incident took place on the evening of Sunday, March 24, in the Central Region's Kakraba. Funny Face's vehicle collided with five pedestrians, including a mother and her two children. Following the accident, one individual fell into a coma, and the others were treated at the Winneba Trauma Centre.
On Tuesday, March 26, Funny Face was charged with drunk driving and careless driving. He has spent the last two weeks in police custody before receiving bail.
