Vida Adutwumwaa, the Entertainment pundit and PR head for Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group, has made it clear that King Paluta does not stand a chance of winning the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year.

Speaking on DJ Slim’s YouTube channel, Vida explained the key factors that determine eligibility for the prestigious award. She noted that an artist must have national appeal, released a successful single, EP, or album, and received a significant number of nominations.

She pointed out that Stonebwoy’s impressive eight nominations for the TGMA, with four coming from his hit album Up and Running, put him far ahead of any competition. “No one else in that category is anywhere close to that,” she remarked.

When discussing King Paluta, Vida Adutwumwaa was quick to highlight the artist’s lack of a major headliner event to his name, which she sees as crucial for proving an artist's influence.

“MC Portfolio mentioned King Paluta’s involvement in shows in the UK, but we know the amount you charge determines whether you'll be called back. King Paluta hasn’t even held a successful show in Ghana,” she pointed out. “Look at Stonebwoy’s La Palm show — it featured A-listers like Davido and Spice, and it was packed largely because of Stonebwoy's influence.”

She went on to question the impact of King Paluta’s UK shows, arguing that since they were not organized by his team, it was difficult to gauge his true fanbase and appeal.

“Look at the other nominees in the Artiste of the Year category. Even Kweku Smoke, despite being young, was able to draw a crowd to his own show on a weekday. Joe Mettle also attracted large numbers, even with his event coinciding with Sarkodie’s show,” she said.

To her, proving one’s impact involves more than just participating in events; it’s about organizing and drawing crowds to one's own shows.

“If you really want to show your influence, put together your own show and watch the fans line up. That’s when we’ll truly know the depth of your artistry,” she emphasized.

Concluding her statement, Vida Adutwumwaa firmly stated, “King Paluta simply doesn’t have the credentials to be considered for Artiste of the Year, especially with no major show of his own to showcase.”
