Ghanaian music icon Kojo Antwi is making preparations to bury his deceased mother Madam Mary Adwoa Nyamaa.
The funeral ceremony is slated to take place take place on Saturday, July 11, 2025, at Obo-Kwahu in the Eastern Region.
The final farewell for the matriarch will take place at the Presbyterian school, where attendees can expect a ceremony filled with music and heartfelt moments.
Madam Nyamaa drew her final breath on November 13, 2024 at Mpraeso Government Hospital.
Kojo Antwi, known by his fans as "Mr Music Man," has long spoken of his mothers's role as a major influence in his musical journey, especially highlighted in one of his early classic hits, "Bre Bre Anowaa," from the "To Mother Africa" album.
As one of the children, Kojo Antwi has continued to celebrate his late mother's impact through both his personal life and his musical expressions.
Meanwhile, on Monday, January 2, 2023, the musician lost his father, Openin Kwadwo Asiama Asubonten, who died at the Police Hospital in Accra.
The musician announced his father’s death on social media, stating that he was 104 years old.
He adored his father, according to the Maestro.
He said every living thing will one day pass away, just as William Shakespeare said in his Merchants of Vernice novel book “The World is like a stage where every man must play a part”.
