Tamale Central MP dares Akufo-Addo to ‘arrest’ Khandahar boys

Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, has charged President Akufo-Addo to order for the arrest of the group who locked up the offices of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TTH and guided him out of the Hospital’s premises.

Mr Fuseini says since the President swore to uphold the Constitution and defend the laws of the country, such an order is long overdue.

His comment follows the arrest of the ringleader of the gang, Baba Alhassan, who are said to be members of the pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group, Khandahar Boys.

Baba Alhassan who is a communications team member of the ruling party led the group to storm the office of the CEO and took away the keys to the office, temporarily disrupting administrative work at the Hospital.

The youth groups alleged corruption on the parts of the CEO of the TTH as the basis for their action.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, Hon. Inusah Fuseini said the police are handicapped.

He explained that, where crimes wear political colour, it is difficult for the police to arrest and prosecute the culprits.

“The only way to teach the suspects a bitter lesson, the Tamale Central MP stressed, is when President Akufo-Addo gives an order,” Mr Inussah said.

The action of the young men is scandalous, distasteful and shameful. This offers an opportunity to President Akufo-Addo to prove that he does not tolerate impunity” he added.

He bemoaned how patients at the Tamale Teaching Hospital are suffering due to the withdrawal of services by doctors and nurses at the facility.

“It is the sick people at the hospital who are suffering due to this shameful conduct of the Khandahar Boys. President Akufo-Addo must act” he fumed.

Hon. Inusah Fuseini said until members of this group are jailed, such incessant attacks on the hospital by NPP youth groups will not end.
