Joe Dodoo hopes that Blackpool’s 2-0 victory over Coventry City proves to be a catalyst that gets the season firmly up and running.
The forward, on loan from Rangers, wrapped up Pool’s first three points of the season with the second goal at Bloomfield Road and believes the side can take a lot of confidence moving forward.
“It was brilliant, obviously we played really well and I thought we dominated the game. It was good to get the two goals and obviously put the game to bed,†he said.
“It was important (to get the win) because we drew twice and obviously won in the cup game. We’re a good side and we just need to get going and a win can obviously set the foundation for us to go on and do more.â€

The goal Dodoo scored was his first competitive one for the club, coming off a long punt upfield by Michael Nottingham.
“We tried a couple of clearances and they fell a bit short, I gambled on the third one because it just needed to be overhit. It went over and I managed to get on the end of it and put it in,†he insisted.
Blackpool’s other goalscorer on the night was Mark Cullen, and Dodoo happy with the link-up play with his fellow striker.
“In pre-season we played a lot together so we got to know each other a lot. We’ve obviously not played together for a while but we’ve got a good chemistry together. It went well and I’m happy,†he added.
