Shatta Wale proposes an African tribute song for MohBad

Ghanaian Dancehall star, Shatta Wale has requested an African tribute song to the late Nigerian Afrobeat singer MohBad.

Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as MohBad, was a famous Nigerian musician who passed away on September 12, 2023, in an undetermined accident and was buried the following day.

His former record label employees were reportedly harassing him prior to his death, which sparked rumours that he was murdered. On social media, there has been a backlash calling for an investigation into the circumstances of his death as a result of this.

Industry leaders from Ghana have also expressed their condolences, with new music sensation Lasmid expressing his grief and even revealing that the pair had a song together that might not be released as a result of the unfortunate incident.

Shatta Wale has also spoken up. Taking to his X handle on September 18, Shatta Wale offered his condolences. Acknowledging that Nigeria had lost a star, and called for a tribute song to be made in honor of the late MohBad.

“Naija, sorry for your loss. I think Mohbad needs an African Tribute song. Rest in Power, Megastar,” he posted.
