The Sapholda Hockey League will return with a bang at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra on August 17 with the seventh week fixtures after a two-week break on Saturday.
When the league resumes, league leaders GRA Ladies will take on Ark Ladies, but the topmost attraction involves the clash between men’s division leaders, Exchequers and Police .
Exchequers, who have been outstanding in the six-week-old competition with an unbeaten run so far, were humbled 1-4 by Police in the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial tournament two weeks ago. Thus, their August 7 clash will witness an uncompromising affair as Police, winners of the Atta Mills tourney, seek to hand Exchequers their first league defeat.
Another must-watch match is the clash between GRA Men and Ark Men, with the defending champions outright favourites to defeat Ark Men to keep the heat on Exchequers.
In the Masters’ competition, NDK Financiers will meet Multistix in a match that can go either way, while Tema Manhean will attempt to wrest the maximum points from Young Financiers in the youth competition.
The match between Ark Boys and Real Ambassadors Boys will be very tough with Ark Boys tipped to ran away winners.
