Sammy Kuffour, John Paintsil breaks down in tears after filing past Atsu’s body

Sammy Kuffour, John Paintsil, and Yaw Acheampong, all ex-football players from Ghana, could not contain their sobs as they passed the mortal remains of their late colleague, Christian Atsu.

Videos show the former football players sobbing as they approach Atsu’s body to say goodbye to him.

At the State House in Accra’s forecourt, the body of the former Newcastle United player lies in state as friends, former teammates, and the nation as a whole pay their respects.

Following an earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, 2023, Christian Atsu passed away in February after his lifeless body was discovered in the ruins of his collapsed apartment in Hatay.

The former Ghanaian International in his 7 years international career played at the World Cup and help Ghana finish second in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, in which he won the best player of the tournament.
