This means that between July and September this year, consumers will pay the same tariffs for electricity and water they purchase.
A statement from the PURC to Citi Business News said it decided not to adjust electricity tariffs despite the implementation of the Automatic Adjustment Formula which provides variables for the adjustments.
“…The Commission after a careful consideration of all the factors that form the basis of the AAF, has reached a decision of no adjustment in electricity tariffs for the third quarter of the year 2018.â€parts of the statement said.

“The Commission investigated the cost of production of all sources of supply of water to the general public by the Ghana Water Company Limited.â€
In April this year, electricity tariffs were reduced between 10 and 30 percent for residential and industrial consumers.
The Commission, however, says that it will monitor the exchange rate fluctuation to guide its decision in tariff setting for the fourth quarter of this year.

“The Commission believes that the current fluctuations in the Ghana cedi-US Dollar exchange rates are spikes hence the need to monitor it over the next period, with a view to establishing the true trend which will form the basis for taking the appropriate tariff decision,†the Commission said.
