Nigerian artist Bella Shmurda has finally spoken out after the tragic loss of his dear friend and fellow artist, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Taking to his Twitter account, the singer shared his profound sorrow over the untimely demise of the late rapper.
In a heartfelt series of tweets posted on Sunday, Bella Shmurda revealed that he has been haunted by the lingering presence of Mohbad’s spirit since the rapper’s unexpected passing last Tuesday.
“For the past few days now, I have been deliberating on what to do while waiting for the authorities of the Nigerian police to at least get one or people involved in maltreatment and malicious act towards Mohbad.
“Since he died his spirit has not left me – saying a lot of things in my head, pointing hands to people that need to be dealt with in my dreams.”
Bella also asserted that Mohbad had filed numerous complaints against individuals who were harassing him. He went on to criticize the Nigerian Police Force for what he deemed as nepotism and an indifferent attitude towards the issue.
In a petition dated June 27, 2023, the late Mohbad had alleged that a group of 15 individuals, including music promoter Sam Larry, had arrived armed at the location of a music video shoot, where he and fellow artist Omoniyi Temidayo, known as Zlatan Ibile, were working. They reportedly threatened to cause harm.
However, when questioned by a PUNCH correspondent on Thursday night, the Police Public Relations Officer of FCID Annex in Lagos, Oluniyi Ogundeyi, disclosed that the police were unable to take action on the petition because Mohbad had declined to step forward, adopt the complaint, provide a defense, or furnish supporting evidence for the accusations he had made.
