Former Black Stars captain, C.K. Akornnor has reiterated that missing out of the AFCON in 2002 when he was with Wolfsburg in Germany was a big “blow” for him in his career.

Akornnor reveals that BBC informed him of his name being expunged from the list of players going to that tournament.

C.K. Akornnor still feels sad about that decision for not been told by anyone about him being dropped from the list.

“Missing the Mali 2002 AFCON was the biggest blow in my national team career as the captain of the team and my club Wolfsburg,” he told Power FM.

“Sadly it was even the BBC that called me to tell me I’ve been dropped. I was sad no one even called to tell me anything.”
