Reggae-Dancehall artiste Samini recently shared his opinion that he considers M.anifest to be a superior rapper compared to Sarkodie. This statement, made during an interview on TV3’s “Day Show” program hosted by Bella Mundi, has ignited discussions among fans of both rappers.
Samini elaborated on his preference by emphasizing that, in his view, M.anifest is a better rapper who delivers deeper and more meaningful lyrics in his music. This perspective on the two prominent Ghanaian rappers has generated diverse reactions and debates within the music community and among fans of Sarkodie and M.anifest.
“I think he’s a better rapper and he has better lyrics, he has deeper lyrics. No disrespect to Sarkodie, but those two rappers, Manifest is in a different league.”
Samini made it clear that his preference for M.anifest over Sarkodie in terms of rap skills was unrelated to his ongoing dispute with Sarkodie, which has recently garnered media attention.
It’s worth noting that Sarkodie and M.anifest engaged in a rap battle a few years ago to determine who was the best rapper in Ghana. This rap feud began when Sarkodie released his track “Bossy,” in which he declared himself the greatest rapper. M.anifest disagreed and responded with his song “god MC,” which contained lyrics that questioned Sarkodie’s claim.
Sarkodie countered with another song, “Kanta,” in which he challenged both M.anifest’s rap supremacy and his fashion sense. This exchange of diss tracks between the two rappers became a significant moment in Ghana’s hip-hop history.
Both Sarkodie and M.anifest have been recognized as exceptional rappers, accumulating numerous accolades and achieving significant success in the Ghanaian and African rap music scenes, and their rivalry has added to the vibrancy of the country’s hip-hop culture.
