Manchester City has made a deal with Rennes for £55. 5 million to replace Riyad Mahrez with Jeremy Doku as their winger.
The Belgian player will have a medical check-up in the north-west region in the next two days before officially signing a contract with City that lasts for five years.
Many Premier League teams were interested in the 21-year-old player because he had a very good season in Ligue 1 last year.
Doku scored six goals last season, and he scored again on the first day of this season.
Pep Guardiola wants to bring Doku to his team because he likes how he plays and his skill of going against defenders alone.
He will be the third player to join City this summer, after Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.
Guardiola still wants to get another midfielder because Kevin De Bruyne won’t be able to play for at least the next three months.
The city and West Ham have made an agreement for Lucas Paqueta, but it’s not clear if the city will actually go through with the transfer.
