King Promise receives ‘Best Male West Africa’ award at 2023 AFRIMMAs

The 2023 edition of the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) recognised Ghanaian musician King Promise as “Best Male West Africa.”

The grand occasion was held on September 17 at Dallas, Texas’ magnificent Meyerson Symphony Centre.

The chart-topping artist, known for his hit song “Terminator,” prevailed in a tough competition against top performers from the West African music scene.

To win this coveted prize, King Promise bested a strong field of competitors that included Adekunle Gold, Black Sherif, Buju, Asake, Omah Lau, Didibo, Tonton, and Satrinos Raphael.

This year, the awards platform, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, honours and recognises outstanding musical compositions and performers from all over the African continent.

Fally Ipupa, a singer from the Congo, and Davido are this year’s most nominated artists with six each, followed by Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Nigeria’s Rema with four each. Burna Boy and Asake have three nominations each.
